Soccer

It has been a strange and crazy soccer season.  There were so many cancellations and reschedules.  It made for some busy weeks for us.  The boys sure had fun though.  I’m going to brag a little here…so either don’t read on, or read it and humor me! ;)

This was Connor’s first year on the big field.  I got tired just watching him, that’s a lot of running up and down.  He always gave it his all and went 100%.  I was one proud mama about how hard he always played.  He really impressed me this year with his crazy footwork.  He would be able to maneuver the ball around players or steal it from them with his fancy footwork.  He wasn’t the big scorer, or the power guy, but he always gave it his all, was in almost every play, hardly sat out, and had some great assists!  Great job bud!  He scored a goal in his last game too, what a great way to end the season!

Nolan had an amazing season.  It was so fun to see him grow.  He was on his own team this year instead of the same team as Jacob.  We struggled the first game.  The team they were playing pretty much “kicked their behinds!” and Nolan was having a hard time with that.  He tried scoring a goal and missed and stormed off the field.  He then  got scored on by the other team as a defender (no goalie at his age) and stormed off the field again.  Needless to say this mama was NOT happy with that and not going to allow it.  He had to sit out the rest of the game.  We had a LONG talk about how it is ok to get mad at yourself and fired up, but you NEVER quit on your team or pout.  He could choose to figure out how to act and play, or just sit on the side line and watch his team for the rest of the season.  He had a lot to think about.

However, that game out of the way…we saw a whole different Nolan the rest of the season!  He missed shots and laughed about it. Whew.  He always went 110% as well.  I have to say….sorry to brag…but the kid ran circles around many of the kids.  Granted, he was an older kid this year and that made a difference as well.  I know it has to do with having 2 older brothers to play against and that has helped him out tremendously.  Nolan was a maniac out there.  There wasn’t a game that went by that he didn’t score at least 2 goals in.  He would just run through and around kids.  It was so fun to see and watch….and even more fun to watch him grow, cheer on his team, and be a good sport about it.  ;)  He scored 3 goals in his last game, so he was pumped to end the season like that.

Jacob played hard as well.  He had a couple really great shots/goals.  The ones that are from a ways away and go up in the air.  He is in it a little more for the social part of it, but does love it, plays hard, has no probably being on the ground (even though you are supposed to stay on your feet!).

Lucas had to always wear his soccer outfit to the games and liked playing on the sidelines where he could.

Mom and dad came over later and we did our flowers.  Mom got to have some fun on the trampoline with the boys.  Matt and my dad power washed the house – wow was that disgusting and a lot of hard work.  We grilled out for dinner afterwards.

Mother’s Day

Mother’s day started with church.  After church Diane and Kristin got a Mother’s day/Baby blessing on the Twins.  Connor got to help out.

Connor thought it was cool that his uncle’s and him were all wearing the same color.

After church we went to Cabela’s for their breakfast buffet.  It was very good – I was actually surprised.  Then we had fun walking around the store looking at all the animals.  The boys had fun having minnows put in their hands.  They said they tickled!

We had to laugh after looking at this picture.  We sort of match and we kind of blend into the background!

Happy Mother’s day to an amazing woman who I have learned so much from.  Mom, you are always there for me, all of us.  You are such a hard worker, caring person, and involved in the community.  I know I get that from you and am so glad.  I only hope to be half the mom you are (ok, maybe a little more!) throughout my life of motherhood.  Thank you for being a great mom and wonderful friend.  I love you!!!

We got home from brunch and Matt and the boys put up the trampoline.   It’s finally nice enough.

I absolutely adore being the mother of these 4 boys.  I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but had no idea what it would be like and how it would change my life.  I am so very blessed.

Happy Mother’s day also to my mother-in-law Barb.  Thank you for raising such a great man and for being a great mom to both of us as well!  We love you!

Yesterday was Daycare Provider day.  Thank you Mary for all that you do for our boys.  We are so blessed.  You always go above and beyond. We celebrate you!

We either get 2 tickets or 4 tickets for out Twins games, so it sometimes gets complicated.  We’ve been able to work it out so far though.  Tonight Matt took Nolan, Connor, and Connor’s friend Noah.  Sounds like they had a great time!

Spring Concert and Baby Reveal x2

Last night the boys had their spring concert.  One of my old teaching partners from Willow is retiring this year and her celebration was at the same time, so Matt did a great job of recording and taking pictures!  Super dad!  Mom and dad were also there to watch.  I was bummed to miss it, but got to watch it when I got home.  Plus, there was no way I would miss my good friend's retirement.  The boys will have many many more concerts.

This morning we all headed over to my parents bright and early for Nate and Diane’s gender reveal.  They had breakfast for  us and then we all got to pop a balloon.  Some of us popped balloons for the first baby, and the rest popped balloons for the second.  So fun!  Check out the last picture to see what they are having!  We couldn’t be more excited!

From the Heart and Dance Recital

Yesterday was the From the Heart Walk/Run.  Connor participated in the kids run.  Started in the back of the pack and worked his way towards the front and won the race.  Then he ran the 5K with his good friend Noah.  Mom and I ran/walked it….definitely more walking than running, but we did run some!  Matt also participated in it for the first time this year.  He ran the 1/2 Marathon relay and did a great job.  His work put together some teams to support some of the families that were honored this year.  I know he wants to get back into running more of these things.  I think it will be something that he and Connor can do together.  Connor definitely gets the running part from his father.  ;)  Weather-wise it was a lot different this year.  There was still snow on the ground.

Later in the day we went to watch Kelsey dance in her recital and Diane’s choreographed dances as well.
