I won't go into too much detail, but have been asked how everything went.
I came home yesterday after picking up the boys (around 5ish) and started having some contractions, but they weren't super close together, just very strong.
Poor Matt, the whole time I was pretty wishy washy with him telling him that I thought we would probably be going in sometime that night.....
We got the boys all tucked in bed (yes, still having contractions), I made a few phone calls to tie up some loose ends for school, called my long term sub seeing if she could come in for me the next day and I totally forgot that she couldn't, so I had to put in for a sub AND make sub plans.

I called my mom to come over and she got there around 9:30, and Matt and I headed to the hospital around 10:00ish.
We got there and the nurse checked me to see what I was dilated to, and I was dilated to a 6-7. She told me I wasn't going anywhere (I went in to the hospital twice with Nolan, but was sent home the first). She laughed and said by the way I looked and acted she for sure thought she was sending me home. I must have been pretty calm I guess, but didn't feel calm.
She called my doctor and everyone thought it was going to happen within the hour or so. Well, it didn't. My doctor checked me and actually broke my water just by checking me. I guess my amniotic sac was HUGE and was blocking the baby from "dropping" - hence me constantly hearing "the baby needs to drop quite a bit yet" - which was so annoying. Once my water broke, things progressed. I can't complain because 4 -1/2 hours is a very short amount of time, but the last two hours were very painful. I would like to think the worse that it's been for any of the boys -however, you tend to forget the pain after awhile because you have this miracle that came from all of it.
My doctor didn't want to put me on any pain meds because she really thought it was going to happen quickly. She finally put me on half the dosage of Nubain that they normally give and that helped a little bit. I had extreme back pain right before I started pushing. I pushed probably 4-5 times, but screamed like I've never done before either. He was a big baby! ;)
Again, after seeing him though, I forgot about it all.
You know, after all the talk about how great it would be to have a girl....I truly didn't even think about it when I saw him. I heard the words "It's a boy", and was overjoyed. Didn't even think about pink.

We didn't have the name narrowed down. The whole time I was in labor Matt and I worked on our names. We finally narrowed it down to 3 boys and 3 girls, but after Lucas was born we still didn't know for sure what his name was going to be. We finally decided on Lucas before we left the birthing room. I think his name suits him very well.
We had a very busy day, with many visitors.
My mom brought the boys this morning before school and daycare. They were a little tired, but SO excited.

A few things my mom told me the boys said:
When they woke up and mom told them why we weren't there, Connor put his arms around the other two and said, "We got what we wanted, guys, a boy!"
He also told Nolan that he's not the baby anymore. Nolan was very excited about this.
When they got to our room they were very quiet and in awe of him.....but them warmed up very quickly. They wanted to constantly give him kisses and hold him. Nolan got a little too excited and wanted to put his cheek to Lucas' head, wanted to hold him, wanted to touch him. We will definitely have watch him. He means well, but just doesn't quite understand how soft he has to be.

They thought it was pretty cool that Lucas bought them presents.

Jacob was the most quiet, as if he was still trying to figure it out. He came up by me on the bed and said to me, "I thought it was going to be a girl. You don't have a big belly anymore. Maybe the next baby in your belly is a girl".
Ha - if only Matt would have heard that. ;)
On the way to school and daycare mom told Connor that he's going to be a big help. Connor said he was going to help change diapers. Jacob asked what he was going to do and Connor told him he could help feed him his bottle. Nolan didn't miss a beat and asked what he was going to do and Connor told him he got the most important job of all - to play with him.
