FMSC, Piano, and Pumpkins

Yesterday, my parents and the older boys did the FMSC (Feed My Starving Children) Meal pack with me this year. Matt was in Canada for work and Lucas was able to go to a friend’s house while we did it.

I love doing this and think the boys get a lot out of it.  They enjoy it and it’s good for them to do things for others knowing how fortunate we are.

From there mom and dad came over to our house to watch the younger boys and Connor and I went to his piano Halloween concert.  He is improving so much every time he performs.

After that we went home and carved pumpkins.  My mom has been wearing this mask of hers for years!  I love her energy, enthusiasm, and effort in everything she does with her grandchildren.  Again, my parents are amazing and I’m so thankful for what they do with our boys.

Since we all have our own kiddos and want to go trick or tricking in our own neighborhoods now, my mom had a great idea to have a Halloween celebration together so that we could still do our pictures and activities that we like to do as a family.  This was awesome because we still got to hang out together and then we’ll all do our own thing on Halloween.  Here is Grandma and Grandpa with their Lego, Ninjas, Pirate, Pippi Longstocking, Monkey, Ladybugs, and Ketchup and Mustard.

The kids opened gifts and mom had some activities planned for the kids.

Our Last Little Get Away as a Family of 6

This weekend we decided to go have a little fun together as a family of 6 knowing it would be the last little get away before baby comes.  We went to the Grand Slam and then stayed overnight at a hotel.  The Grand Slam has a big trampoline, batting cages, arcade, mini golf, bumper cars, and laser tag.  My boys were in heaven!

Even the old man tried a turn at the fast baseball pitches.  He umm…..at least made contact with some of them.  They were fast!  The boys were impressed.

When we played mini golf the boys were getting a little crazy.  I love the last picture….one of us was getting a little flustered and losing his patience.  Can you tell which one?? Hehe.

After the Grand Slam we headed to our hotel.  The boys loved the hot tub of course and thought it was cool that they could swim in the pool and watch the big screen TV.  Any guys dream, hot tubbing and ESPN on the big screen.

What a fun time.  There is no sadness about becoming a family of 7, but it feels strange that there will be another little one of these guys  (or gal!) running around.  Our life is about to change.  Lucas as the youngest is so independent now days and it’s easy to just pick up and go.  He keeps up with the rest of us, if not setting the pace himself.  I will miss this part of our life, but am getting so excited about a new little one.
