Memorial Day

What a great day to finish off our weekend.

We started with the parade.  We sit right by our daycare provider’s house and she spoils us with her cinnamon rolls and coffee.  Can you believe that?  She brings them out on a tray.

Then mom and dad had us over for lunch.  Again, yummy grill food.

The boys and I went out with mom and dad to the cemetery.  Almost all of my grandparents, great grandparents, and many of my great aunts and uncles are buried at the same cemetery.  The boys were more curious this time around.  They asked questions and were very interested.

This was the most precious thing ever and very touching.  Lucas sat down by the picture of my Grandpa and Grandma Ebeling and just stared at it.  I couldn’t have posed it any better even if I had tried.

On our way home the boys and I stopped at another cemetery where one set of great grandparents are buried.  The flags all around the drive was a very cool site.

What a great weekend with family and friends.  We truly are blessed.  We remember all of those who have passed away and cherish their memories.

This is the new pose we found Lucas in tonight.  I’m hoping he’ll start staying in his room better soon.

Memorial Day weekend

We have just been enjoying ourselves this weekend and relaxing.  We had soccer in the morning.  The boys have played so nice together it’s been awesome to watch.  Kelsey came over, so uncle Matt could give her a present from China.  She has Uncle Matt wrapped around her little finger, that’s for sure (in a good way)!

It rained most of the day yesterday so it was too wet to put out the tent like the boys wanted, so we put it up in the living room.  We were still able to have a fire and make some S’mores though.

All tucked into the tent to watch a movie.

Weekends like this get me excited for summer.   Today we went to church and breakfast, then for dinner we had a yummy meal.  We grilled potatoes, corn on the cob, and salmon, with fresh strawberries.

Happy Birthday Carter

Happy birthday bud!  Hope you have a great day!

More soccer

We are finishing up with soccer.  Diane took some great pictures and shared them with me.  All I did was crop some of them so they are closer, I love some of the expressions.

Nolan’s graduation

Nolan had his preschool graduation today.  We have been talking about and preparing for this for weeks.  We started out as “I don’t want to do graduation” and then moved to “How many days until graduation?” to “I’m going to do graduation” (and telling us that he wanted us to sit in the middle or in the back – that was our mistake for the Christmas concert when we sat right in the front row).  We were all pumped that he was going to do it.  The poor guy made it up on the risers, but as soon as he looked out into the audience the tears came.  Miss Karen had him come down and sit by her.  She was able to get him up there for the last song (mostly I think because there were actions and he didn’t have to look out).  Ugh….poor guy.  However, I have been much more relaxed and go with the flow this time around because Jacob is a completely different kid this year.  It will all work out.  I just felt bad for him.  Way to make it through one song though buddy!  In his slideshow and video they made he said he wants to be a race car driver.  Oh boy….doesn’t surprise me, but also won’t be happening! :)  I’m so proud of the great year you had Nolan.  Great job.  You are full of life!

These two lovely ladies get a break from our family for a couple years until it’s time for Lucas!

Speaking of Lucas, we are struggling with bed time a little bit.  I’ll get him into bed and then he’ll come out a couple of times.  This is what we found out on the couch after tucking the other three boys into bed. ;)
