What We’ve Been Up to Over Break

We’ve been having lots of fun this break.  Matt was able to stay home with us on Tuesday.  We unpacked everything, did laundry, put some gifts away or at least organized a little, and the boys started to build their Lego sets.

We got a popcorn popper from John and Lynn.  We love having movie nights with popcorn, so we had to try that out this week.   It was yummy.

I’ve been having some fun with my camera.

Matt built Lucas’ marble creation and we’ve enjoyed playing with that.

Connor has been busy with his 1000+ Lego set….that he finished in about 2 days.  Amazing.  I will have to take a picture of the final product.

Santa visits

Like mentioned we have been traveling today and got home this afternoon to find more presents, from Santa.

Dear Santa,

Thank you for the nice note, for eating the treats and milk we left out for you, for bringing the gifts to our house and not to Eau Claire – we would not have had room for any of them, and thank you for not going overboard this year.  Simple is good.  There is always too much “stuff”!  Take good care of Elfie until next year.

Good night.  I’m exhausted…and a bit overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done.  Good thing it’s Christmas break.  I’m really looking forward to being able to sleep in tomorrow and having nothing on the agenda, nothing!

Eau Claire Christmas with Papa John and Yaya -#6

Sunday morning we headed over to John and Lynn’s and Angie and Neal and Carter and Audrey met us there.  We hung out for the day and into the evening.  The Packers played that night, boy did we feel in the minority (the boys and I that is!  Matt was right at home!)  We opened some gifts, played a ton, snacked…

In the afternoon we all went to the Chipmunks –Chipwrecked movie.  It was cute.  Lucas almost made it through the whole movie sitting, almost.  I think a couple of the adults actually used the movie as nap time.  ;)  We won’t mention any names though.

We came back to the house and John and Lynn made a delicious dinner.  Afterwards, everyone hurried into the living room for the Packer game.

We were a tired crew come night time.  Monday morning we hung out for a little while and then packed up to make the trip home.

We had some wonderful family time, but we were ready to be home (and just do nothing….though we have a ton of stuff to put a way and clean).  We got home and yet had one more Christmas thing to do….we came home to a living room full of more gifts.  The boys were relieved to see that Santa came even though we weren’t there and he left a note and ate all the goodies we left him.  He also took Elfie back to the North Pole with him.

Eau Claire Christmas with Nana -#5

Saturday morning we headed to Eau Claire bright and early and met Barb, Angie and Neal, Carter and Audrey at Chaos, an indoor water park.   The kids (and most of us adults) swam and had fun for a few hours.

After the kiddos were tuckered out we went back to Nana’s to clean up and get ready for church.  The service we went to was completely different than our traditional Catholic mass that the boys are used to, but was it was beautiful, with amazing music.  We got a kick out of their opening song, the band played a Christmas tune on iPads.  Each members’ iPad was a different instrument.   It was very cool.

Apparently Lucas decided he could just plop down in the middle of the floor and have a cookie.  He’s doing a lot of what he “wants” right now.  Those infamous 2’s are coming… I’m not going to call them terrible yet, ….;)

After Christmas service we went out to eat at the Green Mill.  The food was delicious and our wait staff were so much fun.  The kids were pumped to have an official “kid” table.

After dinner we went to Chippewa Falls and drove through Irvine Park.  If you are ever in the area, this place is amazing.  You drive your car through lights and displays that seem to go on and on.  It’s fun.

We headed back to Barb’s, got our pajamas on, and left something out for Santa just in case he stopped there also.

The boys woke up to find that Santa left them something little.  They thought that was pretty cool and nice of him.

We hung out with Barb for a little on Sunday morning and then packed back up to head to John and Lynn’s.
