Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s day to all you wonderful mothers out there.  There is no better job than being a mother.  Becoming a mom has changed my life completely and I couldn’t imagine not being one.  I am so blessed.

We started the day off by going to church and then everyone headed over to our house.  We had a small breakfast before heading out to get our flowers, a tradition going strong now for about 4 years.

My lovely mom and her 3 wonderful children! ;) :)

When we come back from getting our flowers and everything we dump our pots and dirt into the middle of the tarp, mix up the dirt, and go wild.

After we were done potting, we cleaned up a little bit and headed to dinner at the Plaza, and after filling our bellies everyone headed their own way.

My beautiful mom and me.

The boys chose to go to a park so we went and played.

My four joys!

Like I said, I can’t imagine my life as anything other than a mother.  Those 4 smiling faces up above have changed my life forever and my heart is full.  I love them so much.

Happy Mother’s day to my mom who is always there for me and has been a huge role model in my life.  I am so glad we have the relationship that we do.  I love you!

Happy Mother’s day also to Matt’s mom, Barb.  Thank you for your son and for accepting me into your family from the start and always being there.  We love you!

Soccer, Soccer, and More Soccer

We are in the full swing of soccer over here.  With a few cancellations and make ups we sometimes have 3-4 days of soccer (nights during the week and Saturday mornings).  Thankfully this year Jacob and Nolan are on the same team.  Next year we won’t be as lucky and they will all 3 be on different teams.  Ha.  Good luck with that one.

It is so much fun though.  I don’t know if you can officially call me a soccer mom yet, but I sure am enjoying all of this. ;)

Twins game

Matt is in Canada right now for work, so last night my dad was able to join Jacob, Nolan, and me for the Twins game (Connor was able to go with Matt on his birthday, plus he had a soccer game so him and Lucas stayed home with my mom).  It was a crazy night.  It was beautiful out all day, and as we were heading up there it started to rain (we were prepared for the rain).

Right as we got in we saw Tony Oliva and had to get the guys’ picture taken with him.

The field was already covered with the tarp by the time we got in. Our seats are down in the section with no covering, so we decided to get something to eat and find some seats with a cover.  I couldn’t believe it but we waited out the 2 hour delay.  The boys were awesome and we had so much fun.  A lot of the crowd either went home or were up eating and drinking.  We even went down and talked to TC.

The boys were giddy.

The first pitch was thrown at 9:05 pm.  It turned out to be a perfect night.

I had too much fun just watching the boys excitement and faces.  They were really into the game.  The first inning was a great one and the boys were pumped about every little thing, every ball for us and every strike for them….I was wondering how long the enthusiasm would last.  It lasted the whole time in fact.  It was midnight when the 7th inning started and these two were still up and at it.  I actually was the one that said, “Alright, let’s head out.  We can listen to the rest of the game on the ride home.”  They were bummed, but didn’t argue too much.  Unfortunately, we missed a really good 8th inning, but fortunately the Twins won!  Jacob was out before we even left the parking lot, and Nolan the stinker made it all the way home.  He was still talking a mile a minute when I was tucking him into bed.

I had to laugh…it started to cool off a little bit and they started to sell blankets, for $34 that is.

This picture’s kind of funny.  Here Jacob is waving his hand to have TC shoot up a t-shirt to him.  They both waved their hands up for the vendors thinking they were funny…for everything – peanuts, hotdogs, beer, etc…

You can see Nolan’s hand holding up the phone for Jacob to talk to Matt who was calling us from Canada.

It was a really fun night.

Today was special because the 2nd graders were able to celebrate their First Communion with the rest of the school.

Spring Concert

Jacob and Connor had their spring concert tonight.  They did great.  I love that Jacob wants to wear his shirt and tie for everything lately.  He looks like a little man!  Oh how far you have come Jacob.  You did awesome, had no fear or anxieties what so ever!!!  Connor….you have always been a shining star when it comes to your concerts.  You love to sing, take it very seriously, and do a great job.

Nolan on the other hand, told me as we were leaving that he doesn’t want to sing for concerts.  I think we might be in trouble again for his spring graduation program.  If you remember what happened for his Christmas program.  Keep your fingers crossed. ;)

A weekend full of a little bit of everything

This past weekend was CRAZY busy!  It was full of fun, family, and friends….but I am beat.

Friday night we went to the spaghetti supper for the From the Heart fundraiser.  We ate a yummy dinner (always yummy when I don’t have to cook) and there were a bunch of games and activities for the kids to do.  It is always the kick of for the  1/2 Marathon and 5k Run/Walk on Saturday.  This year I knew one of the families that is battling with cancer that the weekend was benefitting.  It’s always so inspiring to see the people that volunteer and participate for this wonderful event.  Saturday morning we got up bright and early.  They had a kids run for the first time and the boys all wanted to do it.  They started with a balloon release.  Then the boys and our friends the Hodgemans, along with Kristin’s nephew Soren got ready to run.  They were so excited and we’re not competitive AT. ALL.  ;)

Connor did awesome, Nolan got scared with all the craziness and ran over to the side with me, and Jacob made it the whole way but was in tears on the way back – he got a little frightened.

After the kids ran it was time for the 5K.  Mom, Kristin, Diane and I,  along with Kristin’s family members, Chris and Jolene, did it this year.  Kristin, Diane and I had high hopes and goals of running the whole thing (and training), however we didn’t get much of that training in.  We did push ourselves though and ran 2 of the 3 miles of the 5k this year.  It was actually quite impressive for us (or I should speak for myself and say me) and I would have just walked if it wasn’t for the push of Kristin and Diane.  Thanks ladies.

Kristin’s dad ran the 1/2 marathon, now that is inspiring!  Way to go Larry.

After the run the boys had soccer games. Jacob and Nolan are on the same team and having a blast, and Connor is having a great year.

After the soccer games Miss Kelsey had her dance recital.  The boys brought her flowers.

Seriously, can she get any cuter?  She rocked it on the dance floor.  The boys (and me of course!!) really enjoy watching the dance recitals and sat through the whole thing, even when Kelsey was only out there 2 times.  Way to go Kelsey!

Then to top it off as soon as I got home I left again for a night out at a winery in the area.  It was an event that our Night of Knights auction hosted.  It was a great time.  Any time there is wine involved it’s a great time isn’t it?
