Dear Connorman,

I cannot even begin to describe how proud we are of you. You have an amazing heart and an incredible work ethic. Your younger brothers are so lucky to have you as their older brother. The fact that you bought something for Jacob and Nolan with your Big Bucks (for good behavior) in school is something not many adults would even do.

You are such a great helper. There are not too many times we hear any squawking when we ask you to do something or help with a job or two. In fact, many times you ask what you can help with.

I hope that your love for school and learning continues and grows. The way that you soak everything up and get excited about learning new things is wonderful to see.

My wish for you is to know how much you are loved and how proud we are of you. I want you to be happy......

First day of School

Today was the first day of school. Connor is in First grade, Jacob is in Preschool, and Nolan is doing a preschool type curriculum at daycare. He wanted to be included with the boys, with his backpack, and even picked out what he wanted to wear for the first day (It was pretty cute, I was helping the other boys pick out their clothes and Nolan, wanting to be included, asked me, "What about me mommy? Can I pick out my shirt too?" I couldn't say no to that. He came running out of his room with this shirt on its hanger. He was all smiles).

Connor was a little nervous and anxious the night before. He even got a little teary eyed when Matt dropped him off. Matt ran into him when he dropped Jacob off (have I mentioned that I really hate that I am unable to take the boys to their first day of school? I'm very glad that Matt can do it though) and he was ALL smiles and having a great time.

Jacob on the other hand was all smiles and excitement the night and morning before. However, when Matt took him to school he got all shy and sad. He kept telling Matt that he was shy. Matt was able to leave 30 minutes later. Miss J. emailed me later to tell me that things got better for him. He told me that next time he's not going to be shy and that he is excited to go back. We'll see.

Can't wait to see what is in store for you boys.

Happy 36th Anniversary

Happy Anniversary tomorrow (Sept. 7) mom and dad! Wow - 36 years. You may have been married 36 years ago, but the celebration still continues on to this day. You have so much to celebrate. We all do because of you.

Thank you for showing us what marriage and family is supposed to be all about.

Here is to many more years!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a fun, productive, and busy Labor Day Weekend.

The boys practiced spitting cheerios because they thought it would make a great Minute to Win It mission.

The boys picked flowers for me (from our own garden, but it was still sweet!).

They found a caterpillar and put it in one of their bug cages. They accidentally forgot it in there and Nolan brought it to me with tears in his eyes. I told him he could go throw it in the garbage. BIG mistake. He started crying and said, "But, then how it will get out?". I tried to explain it to him that it wouldn't get out because it was dead. He kept asking me how we were going to fix it.

Connor put together his new Lego set. Unbelievable.

My mom came over and we made salsa again. Thanks mom. I really enjoy doing this. The boys of course had to help out.

Matt started a fire with Grandpa and the boys while we finished the salsa. They roasted marshmallows.

And then snuggled to look at the stars with Grandma.

Monday Matt and I got a few things done around the house. The boys were playing downstairs and at one moment I noticed it got really quiet. I went down to check on them and this is what I found. Loved it.

Monday night we had our Back to School dinner. Cheers to another great school year!

Party Time

We had the family over for Connor's birthday on Saturday. I'll give you one guess as to what you think the theme was. Yep. The Twins and baseball.

The day was filled with food, fun, and family.

Misc1 He recieved lots of great stuff, books, clothes, a super cool Lego set (that he has put together already!), and baseball and football cards with a cool book to put them in.

Misc4

We played some games (the good thing about being the coordinator - you don't have to participate). Everyone was such great sports. We played a game where you had to balance the baseball (ping pong ball) on a spoon and make it around the bases, a dress up relay (Here, Batter, Batter!), and the cookie game from minute to win it. I have some fun video I will maybe get on here later.

Misc2

Misc3

What a wonderful day. Thank you everyone for celebrating with is. The boys are so blessed to have such incredibly generous and supportive family. We love you.

Connor....it's hard to believe that you are almost 7. I am so proud of who you are. Watching you open your presents today, one by one, taking the time to read each card and then thanking everyone. You are such a kind hearted boy.

Meet the teacher

Connor had his first grade orientation last night.  He was nervous and unsure before we went, but afterwards is now super excited and happy.  He got to put his stuff in his desk (which made him seem so old!) and thought that was cool, meet his teacher Mrs. P, and look around the room.  He was pumped to hear that they will be doing a lot of reading, at different levels.  He loves to read.

Here’s to a great year bud!

Date with my Jakeyman

Wednesday night Jacob and I went to the Twins game.  It was a beautiful night and the Twins win.  Great combo!

The game was tied in the 9th inning 1-1 and Jacob was getting really tired, so we left (I was actually OK with it since it was just the two of us so we beat the crowd).  On the way to the car this man in a suit put a baseball in Jacob’s glove and said, “Here you go, buddy.  There’s a game ball from batting practice.” It has the 2010 Inaugural stamp on it and everything.

Jacob told him thanks and the smile didn’t leave his face all the way home (until he fell asleep).

We listened to the 10th inning on the way home and the Twins won 2-1.

It was a really fun night and great to spend time with just Jacob and focus on him.  He was hilarious during the game yelling “Strike Out!”.

This kid LOVES peanuts.  I should have taken a picture of the mess.

Thanks for the date Jakey!

All you need is laughter (or giggles)

The boys LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. making Lucas giggle and laugh. How can you not laugh when you hear this?

Don't forget to pause the music so you can hear ...

More milestones…

Lucas is growing up way too fast.

I meant to post this about two weeks ago but didn’t get to it.

He is now doing a TON of this…..

We had to baby proof the house a little and the gate is up again.

He loves to do this and thinks he is one cool dude when he does.

100_8320 100_8321

He smiles and squeals when we notice and cheer for him.

He eats a ton, never less then two jars of food a sitting. We are really working on the table food, because boy that baby food is expensive.

I have to say I am secretly loving the fact that he is a little bit of a mommy’s boy at the moment. He’ll go to people fine, but if I’m around or talk to him he gets all giddy, squirmy, and smiley while he tries to jump at me (I know this won’t stay for long, so I have to be excited about it a little bit). It makes my heart melt.
