S’mores and Strawberries

Thursday I got a call from Kelsey asking if they could come over for a fire and make S’mores.  I loved it.  It was something on her list of Summer things to do.  It didn’t work out Thursday night, but they came over Friday night and we grilled out and then had a fire for S’mores.  Jacob was happy because he had been asking all summer as well.

Earlier today we went with friends to go pick Strawberries and the Straight River Farms.  The boys and I picked 2 flats of them – almost 20 lbs.  Yummy.

Weekend

Connor wanted to run in the Medford Fire 5K Run, so Matt and him ran it yesterday.  Connor beat his dad by 1 minute and was in the top 30.  We might have a runner on our hands folks. I will remain silent on my thoughts about that. ;) ;)

The younger 3 and I continued with our garage sale.  It was a success.  We got rid of so much stuff and that was my goal!

It was a hot day and after a graduation party we were invited to we went to the pool.  Matt, K, and the girls joined us.

Today we stopped at a friends birthday party for an hour and then met up with some other friends to go watch Monsters University.  We have been waiting for this movie to come out!!  It didn’t disappoint.

One of the items on the Live auction at the Night of Knights auction is a class pool party.  We got parents together and bought it for Connor’s class.  Being a teacher and on the committee I volunteered to chaperone it with another teacher before we knew who was buying it.

Fishing and Niagra Cave

Yesterday Youth First and Cabela’s had their annual fishing event where you can go out and fish on their ponds for free (fishing poles and worms provided) and receive a free fishing pole, hotdog, and rootbeer float.  Some of their fish were tagged and if you caught one you got a $100 Cabela’s card.  We didn’t have much luck but the boys had fun.  Jacob even puts on his own worm.

Today we went to Niagara Cave with John and Lynn.  They came and picked us up and we headed down to Harmony.  We had a yummy picnic lunch made by

Lynn and panned for gold while we waited for our tour.  The caves were pretty amazing.  Way more and better than I was expecting.
