Ladies at the lake…..

Last week I was able to get away for a few day and go to the lake with the ladies I have been doing this with for a few years now. Unfortunately the weather was cold and rainy so I do not have any nature pictures or lake pictures, however it did not dampen our spirits or ruin our time there. We have a blast. We ate (and drank) like queens, played games, read our books, did lots of visiting, went for walks, and went into town for a day and did some shopping... and who could forget those loons in the lake that one night?!! ;)

One night we went into the Angry Minnow microbrewery. What a fun place. Sue and I shared a flight of their micro brews.

Go figure the day we had to head out this is what it looked like. Oh well, we had such a wonderful time. Thank you ladies for always making it a fun get together. We all come from different walks in life, yet have a mutual respect for each other and enjoy each other's company. It is always so refreshing.

Girls Getaway

Tuesday through Friday I was able to go away for a little girls getaway. The cabin we stayed at and the lake were nothing less than perfect and beautiful. I know when you go up to the lake you expect and hope to see nature and wildlife, but this week was unbelievable. We saw eagles, deer (one of them swimming across the lake), a beaver parent and little one, loons up the wazoo including a family and a loon protecting her nest, geese and duck families, turtles, chipmunks, and the best was a family of trumpeter swans. Unbelievable. The week was also full of delicious food and drink(we went grocery shopping before we got to the cabin and we did great), fires inside and outside, sunsets, boat rides and cruises, some reading, some city fun, and walks. The scenery and company were incredible and it was much needed and a perfect way to start off the summer and get ready to PLAY with the boys. Thank you ladies. This is the cabin we found for sale while on a boat ride and I'm trying to convince Matt that we really should buy it. I fell in love with it. I've always wanted a red cabin (we would remove a few of the dead trees in front). This is how clear the water is at right below my knee level. You don't see lakes this clear now days. It's fate - on this lake, that I'm trying to convince my husband to buy this cabin on, there is an island named Stacey Island. Now tell me that I, I mean we, ;) don't belong on this lake?!

Of course I missed the boys a ton. It was hard to be away from them that long, but I talked to them on the phone and had a wonderful welcoming when I got home. I'm learning and getting better at being OK with being away from them. It's good and healthy to take some me time.
