If only all Saturdays could be like today

Mommy’s Little Man

We started the day off with Matt and the older three boys riding bike downtown and Lucas and I drove there for the Farmer’s Market. I could spend a ton of money down there, but today we just bought some sweet corn (that we had for supper and was delicious. My uncle Jerry got our family started on putting peanut butter on it when I was little, and now the boys do it also. Yum. Yum. Try it some time).

Connor has been talking about these bugs that he is seeing lately that have like 3 different stages. He said he's never seen this stage in the below picture (he showed me the hard dried and crusted shell that they leave stuck to a different tree), and I have never seen or even heard of this bug. Anyone know what it is called?

After we got home we had a quick and easy lunch and the boys were out in the pool. They went from swimming in the pool to catching butterflies (or moths, but butterflies sound better), back into the pool and out to catching again. They finally decided to get out of their suits 3 hours later. Lucas and I hung out on the blanket playing and he even took a little nap out there.

The boys caught a total of 50 of them. It was pretty cool. Don’t worry, we didn’t hurt any of them and of course let them go afterwards. It was cool watching them all fly out of the bug house. 100_7951

Like I mentioned earlier we had sweet corn for supper and then after baths sat down and watched the Twins win together (this happens often and I love it). Can’t get much better than that for a day.

Lucas is now taking baths in the big tub with the big boys. He loves it and thinks he’s pretty cool. He loves the water. Nolan thinks it’s pretty awesome also.

So many pictures of this guy I know, we just can’t get enough of him though.

Hope you all had a great Saturday also. We have Miss Kelsey’s birthday party tomorrow. She is going to be 2! Woo hoo!

Our mornings, Train Basketball, Peanut Butter and Jelly, and Singing Toothbrushes

One by one they crawl into our bed and we turn on the cartoons. This gives mommy and daddy time to get ready..... normally we're under the covers but the bed was made early this morning! ;)
Our two little munchkins (or thing 1 and thing 2 as we joke about) created a new bath time game tonight. Thomas the Train basketball. Why not?!
I don't know about anyone else out there, but my boys could live off of peanut butter and jelly, especially Connor. In fact, because of Matt's one time doing, we now have to make Connor a bread, peanut butter, jelly, bread, jelly, peanut butter, bread (double decker) sandwich everytime. Nolan and Jacob however take their sandwich a part and eat each slice of bread. Whatever gets them to eat it I guess!

Santa gave the boys these great singing toothbrushes. Brushing our teeth has never been so fun or so easy to get them to do!!! We get to listen to The Bare Necessities, Hakuna Matata, and If You're Happy and You Know it Brush Your Teeth! Lovely.

The Joys of having all Boys

There are so many great things about having all boys. Let me share a a few of them with you.

1) We have enough trains and train tracks, cars, and trucks to fill a real truck. I get to have them spread out all over my floors constantly. Lots of toe stubbing and stepping on wheels going on at our house. Lots of "beep - beep, vroom - vroom, choo -choo, and
watch out buddy" going on. Why we feel like we need to clean it up every night I'm not sure, maybe it makes me feel like I have some control over all of the chaos. However, it's all (if not more of it) right back out on the floor the next morning! I know many of you can relate!
2.) We can all take a bath together and not have to worry about having any talks about "body parts" that aren't in the tub! For now at least.......! Lots of splashing and laughing going on in that tub.

3.) We get to read lovely gross books about bugs. We've been doing a page a night in this book. It's like an I Spy book sort of, but extremely difficult. Matt and I joke about our eyes going "buggy" with it. Connor loves these type of books.

4.) I have a house full of balls. HA - I just realized how funny that sounded, but is true! Connor and Jacob love bouncing around on these Spiderman bouncy balls. We have so many basketballs, footballs, baseballs, and balls from Gopher, we don't even know what to do with them all. Dolls? Princesses? What are they? I know what Spiderman, Dinosaurs, Batman, and Captain America are though!

These are some of the joys of having all boys! Gotta love it. I am already envisioning our life when the boys are older - the grocery bill, the loads of dirty and smelly laundry and uniforms, and the burping and everything else that comes with being around boys. ;)

Connor went on a field trip to the fire station on Friday for school. He was so excited about it. They've been talking about fires and tornadoes and Connor comes home all excited about it. He showed us how to "stop, drop, and roll" and told us how important it is to get outside. Thursday night he came out of bed because of the thunder and asked a million questions about tornadoes -if one was coming, if they were real, how we stay safe, and on and on.

Connor's newest joke: What is louder than a dinosaur? Two dinosaurs. He says he made it up himself, but who knows.
