Homecoming 2011

Like I mentioned in the previous post, Connor was asked to be Junior Royalty king. He was excited but pretty nervous leading up to the big weekend. Typical for him. We were in bed Wednesday night talking about it and I asked him what he was most nervous about. He said he was nervous about coronation because how was he supposed to know who the king and queen were. Ha. He thought he actually crowned them. After I told him that he didn't have to do the crowing he laughed and you could see the relief fill his face.

Thursday night Kate and him walked up the crowns on pillows and handed them off. They looked so adorable.

Friday afternoon the schools here had early dismissal for the parade. It was a beautiful day. Kate and Connor got to ride in a black convertible. Matt and the girls, Grandma and Grandpa, and Natey met up with us to watch the parade.

Last but not least Friday night Connor and Kate rode in a golf cart with the rest of the homecoming court around the football field during half time. Connor loved that. When it was all over....Connor actually got sad when the night came to an end. It was back to earth......

Homecoming 2010 (take 2)

Our town celebrated Homecoming this past weekend (was cancelled the original weekend because of the flood). It was absolutely perfect out (actually too hot). I can’t believe we were in shorts and t –shirts in October and still sweating. We met up with Mattey and Kelsey for the parade again.

One of my co-workers told me about a tradition they had when her boys were younger of going to get malts at one of the hometown diners in town. I loved the idea, and it was a perfect hot day for a malt. The boys thought it was pretty cool.100_8730_edited-1

I think they enjoyed them…….

We went to the football game that night and watched the Huskies battle till the end, and come out with an exciting win.

Happy Halloween

I am posting this on Saturday, Halloween night, thinking that Daylight Savings would get going, but apparently not because the date says November 1. The boys were all in our bed this morning. Nolan and Connor were still sleeping and Jacob was playing away on his computer.

Today the guys finished sheet rocking Connor's room dowstairs. Mattey came over to help in the early morning, and then Natey and my dad came over later in the morning to finish it. It's exciting seeing in the actual form of a room. Now we can move on to the next step.

While the guys were sheet rocking Diane kept the boys occupied. They made Moon Rocks together (the most addicting things ever!) and then Grandma came over a little later.
We had a great time for Halloween! What a fun night. The boys had a blast. Natey and Diane were great sports and dressed up to help take the boys trick or treating. We got the biggest kick out of Jacob and Nolan in the wind with their hair. We also laughed at Nolan trying to keep up with the other two. By the end of the night though, Natey was carrying him door to door. I can't believe all of the candy they got. They got some fun packages from Uncle Mattey and Aunt Kristin (and Kelsey), Uncle Natey and Diane, and Grandma and Grandpa. Boy, have they been spoiled this past week.

After trick or treating we all went back to my mom and dad's to eat a delicious lasagna dinner. My aunt and uncle Sharon and Ed came over to hang out with us for the night. Kristin and Kelsey were also with us. Mattey was with the Huskies at the playoff football game. We listened to the game while we ate and played cards. The boys were exhausted by the end of the night.

Thank goodness for Daylight Savings.
Here is a slideshow from the evening.
