Party Time

Yesterday was Lucas’s birthday party.

One last clean up quick before everyone comes over.

We played Pin the Nose on Elmo.  A couple were right on, a few were close, and many were way off! Everyone is always such good sports about giving my game a try.  Even if they don’t want to. ;)  Hey, at least they get a prize out of it.

The kid won’t be bored for the next year or so, that’s for sure.  He got some really fun and neat gifts.  All different.   He sure was spoiled.  He had lots of help with opening.

Jacob and Connor had basketball in the afternoon, which also meant that Matt had basketball.  After cake, Matt and Jacob left, and soon after John and Lynn, Barb and Grandma Doreen, and Angie, Neal, Carter and Audrey left.  In the craziness of serving cake, packing up the boys for basketball, and saying goodbyes and thank yous I didn’t get very many pictures.  I’m especially bummed because I always try to get a picture of the birthday boy with everyone.  I missed all of Matt’s family in the whirlwind of them leaving to go watch Connor play ball for a little bit.

We tried to get one with Matt and I and the birthday boy, but he just wouldn’t have it.  He was all partied out.

What a fun day!  Thanks for coming everyone, and for all the wonderful gifts.  Lucas sure is loved.  We are so blessed to have such an amazing and supportive family.  Our boys are so fortunate.

Happy 2nd Birthday Lukey man!

The last sleep as a 1 year old.  I can’t believe it.  It makes me sad…..there are now no more babies around our house.  Though, Lucas grew out of the baby phase awhile ago, he grew up way too quickly.

In the middle of the night he started screaming and crying.  I rocked him for a little bit, but got a little emotional and didn’t want to put him down.  I brought him into bed with me and snuggled the rest of the night.  Here he is waking up with a sleepy smile.

We went out for supper for his birthday.  The older boys all wanted Buffalo Wild Wings, but when we gave Lucas a few choices he always went back to Applebees.  The boys finally decided it would be best anyways because then we wouldn’t have the distractions of all the TVs at BWW’s and it would be a better family  night.  ;)

Lucas was funny.  He enjoyed watching the wait staff clap and sing Happy Birthday to 3 other people and he got the biggest kick out of it.  He would yell, “Hey!” when they were doing it.  However, when they came to sing to him he wasn’t quite sure what to do.

Earlier in the week the boys picked out a few small gifts for him either related to Elmo, letters, puzzles, or colors.  He is so into his letters, puzzles, building, and colors right now.  Oh yeah, and his trains.

The kid had this ABC puzzle mastered after watching his brothers do it one time.

Happy Birthday Lucas!  We all love you so much.  You bring so much joy to our family.  Your brothers adore you.  They fight over who gets to get you out of your crib in the morning, they all want to snuggle with you, they love to read books to you, and play your trains with you downstairs.  You are still a mama’s boy when it comes to snuggles, bed time, when you’ve gotten hurt…but you’re venturing out.  You love Grandpa.  Some of your favorites right now are singing the ABC’s, Twinkle Twinkle (or Ernkle Ernkle like you call it), Justin Bieber because of your brothers, and many of the pop songs out right now.  You love to dance and many times ask for “more” or “again”.  You could sit and play with your trains for hours, that or put puzzles together and read books.  You can recite the whole Brown Bear Brown Bear book when reading it.  You know your colors and we many times use it to keep you busy and occupied.  Your favorite shows right now are Bubble Guppies and Team Umi Zoomie.  Your laugh melts my heart and makes us forget all our troubles, anger, or stress.  Your favorite foods are pizza, anything pasta, crackers, cereal, Gogurts (yogurt in a bag), apples, and clementines.  You have really started talking and love to repeat everything you hear.  I’m sad that you are growing up so quickly, but enjoy the little man you are becoming.  Love you Lukeyman.

Randoms – no pictures in this post ;)

I really am struggling with keeping up with this blog.  Oofta.

Not much new right now.  We’re staying busy with school, work, speech, the SMS auction committee, and life.

The weather has been incredible lately….who could have imagined we would be in the 50’s in January.  We’re loving it.  I miss the snow, but not the cold.  I know it’s coming though.

Matt has been in Florida since Thursday and comes home tomorrow night.  The boys and I have had many movie and popcorn nights spread out on the floor.  I love it!

Lucas is turning 2 in a week.  It’s so hard to believe, yet he acts like he’s older.  He sure does his best to keep up with his brothers.  He is so fun to interact with and play with right now.

The boys are doing well in school and still enjoy it – ha.  Thank goodness. ;)

Can you believe this is a post with no pictures?  I can’t.

Ending this with thoughts and prayers going out to those in need.  We know quite a few people right now dealing with an illness, many with cancer, death in the family, or other sad news.  Thinking about you all……

Basketball and Our Last Christmas –Ebeling side #7

Basketball has started for the boys.  They both only have skills right now because games don’t happen until 3rd grade.  Matt is coaching both Jacob and Connor.  Jacob’s super excited and thinks he’s pretty cool stuff to be playing this year.  He has this swagger that’s pretty darn cute.

We had our final Christmas celebration today with my mom’s side.  We had great food, played dirty bingo like always where everyone brings a gift to put in the middle, and this year my uncle and his wife hooked us up with some beautiful horses.  Someone he works with has Belgium horses and they brought their wagon and five of their horses for us.  The kids (and adults!) loved it.

Give these two a few years and they could cause some major trouble!!!

Happy New Year 2012

Last night Matt and Kristin and the girls came over to bring in the New Year with us.  It was a perfect way to spend the night – fun, but mellow.

We had some yummy food and drink.

The boys played some Wii and they also played Dora with Kelsey for quite a while.   We played some American Idol – Kelsey loves to perform and then be judged.  We also played some charades.  Our boys love to play this and we introduced it to Kelsey.   The kiddos did not make it up till’ midnight.  Kelsey was actually the last one up out of them all.  She made it until about 11:52pm.

The adults on the other hand actually made it up until the New Year!  We even made it past an hour or two playing a new fun game Matt and K brought over.

Cheers to a wonderful 2011 and all the things to come in 2012.  I have so much I could write about on my resolutions and so forth, but I won’t bore you with all that.  Happy New Year everyone!  May you be as blessed as we feel we are.
