Here are some of my favorites (besides those already on Natey’s birthday entry). It was an absolutely PERFECT day, we were blessed to be apart of it. We are so happy for Nate and Diane and look forward to their life as a married couple.
I will do another entry later, and add some more pictures and the video.
I took a personal day on Friday, and it was nice to be able to help out and go into the weekend relaxed (sort of). Friday morning the brothers (Matt, Mattey, Natey, and Diane's brother) went golfing with lunch after. I had to go in to get Nolan's tux adjusted, then I helped mom set up the rehearsal dinner, and then we went out to check the Monterey Ballroom where the reception was. Mom and I snuck in a quick manicure before all the ladies met up for lunch. After lunch some of us went to get pedicures. I don't do either of those very often, so it was a nice treat. It's fun getting all dolled up once in awhile. Then we got ready for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.
Saturday morning started bright and early with the ladies getting our hair done (everyone's turned out awesome!) and then going home to get everyone dressed. We headed to the church for pictures. The ceremony was beautiful and couldn't have gone any better. Even Nolan and Kelsey did a great job. I'm of course a little bias, but they had to be the cutest ringbearer and flower girl. ;) Jacob and Connor handed out programs and did a super job with that also. They felt important. We were a little nervous about Jacob and whether he would do it or not. He stood there without any hesitation and seemed like such a big boy. They were cute. We were even a little worried about Nolan actually walking down the aisle, but there was nothing to worry about because they were adorable.
It was quite interesting with both Matt and I in the wedding and having 4 boys, with the older three having a part in it too. A lot of coordinating, and thinking ahead. We had a ton of help and thanks to my mom and dad, aunt and uncle Sharon and Ed, my uncle Steve, our daycare provider Mary, and Barb, Angie and Neal we were able to pull the day off without any issues. A HUGE thank you goes out to all of the above. They were a huge help with the boys, so that Matt and I could enjoy some of the adult festivities. We wouldn't have been able to do it without them. We were so honored and lucky to be a part of the wedding, we wouldn't have wanted to miss any of it. Matt and I both felt like we could breathe a little once the ceremony was done because the three older boys did awesome with their jobs and were successful, they were all very well behaved during the ceremony, and even better....Lucas took a nap during it. It couldn't have gone any better.
After the ceremony the wedding party took a bus to get some outside pictures and then made a stop at Wings bar.
When we got to the reception we were announced for the grand march and then performed our dance that Diane choreographed. She sent all of us a video a few months ago to practice and then we practiced it a little at the rehearsal dinner together. It was so much fun and Diane had everything planned out to the tee. I will post a link to the video later. There is a couple of them out there on facebook.
The food was amazing.....the cake was delicious, and the music and dancing a blast. There were so many kids, and truly all of them were family. Diane and Nate had a kids table with crowns, glow necklaces, etc... great idea. Connor and Nolan danced the night away. Especially Connor. He was a maniac out there. For the garter toss, the single men (or boys!) had to do a dance, by themselves for Diane....in front of EVERYONE. Connor was 2nd to last and the kid got out there and started to break dance and get his groove on. The crowd went wild for him. He really came out of his shell. Nolan had fun dancing as well, but tuckered out before Connor did. Jacob was more shy, his typical self. He was really tired and was the first to fall asleep on a bed we made by putting some chairs together. Lucas was his crazy self making us all take turns chasing him. He had a blast though.
Truly. A perfect day.
Sunday we got together for brunch while Natey and Diane opened their gifts.
Showing off their rings, aren't they cute?
We were exhausted come Sunday evening and Monday morning. It was really hard getting up and motivated for work and school. Lucky for the couple they get to relax and rest up on their honeymoon.
Check out the blog entry from their day by their photographer
