School shopping, Teary eyes, Ouuuuuuuuuuuch, One brave boy, and a Movie

Connor and I went school shopping, got his Kindergarten shots, and then went to the movie "G-force". He was so brave getting his shots. He got teary eyed and gave out a big "Owwwwwww", but that was all. He limped for a little while, but I think the 5 stickers and 5 suckers he got for the 5 shots helped him forget and by the time the movie had started he had forgotten ALL about them. We had a great afternoon. It was wonderful spending some time with just him and I. Loved it. Love you Connor man.

Again, reading his book.

The damage!

Connor reading.....everywhere anywhere

Jacob was a little crabby this morning and not feeling so independent, so he wanted me to pick out his clothes. Of course they matched...so no need for a picture.

I hope no one is offended by this picture. I've been saying lately how much Connor LOVES (understatement) to read. Well, I walked into the hallway last night to find this going on in the bathroom. Now it already takes Connor quite awhile in the bathroom....can you imagine how long he is going to be in there now?! Matt and I got a good laugh out of it. Like I said, the kid picks up a book any time he can.

He has his Kindergarten shots today. He's been a little nervous about them, but I told him we'd go to the movie G-Force afterwards and that got him excited. I'll let you know how they go.

Day 2 Jacob's outfit

Jacob's outfit for the day. He thought his navy blue shorts (that he wore yesterday) were black and he told me that they matched the black on the alligator.

Jacob's daily outfit

Jacob is into being Mr. Indepent right now and picks out his clothes and gets dressed. I thought it would be fun to track his outfits for the week. He actually did a great job today. He told me that there was blue on his shirt and his shorts were blue - they matched.

We went to the park for a little while with Kristin and Kelsey.

Sir Connor

Connor asked me if we were going to recycle any boxes. I told him not really, but we have boxes downstairs. He asked if he could use one, so I got one for him. I came out from putting the younger two down for nap and find Connor at the counter cutting and taping and coloring with pieces of the box all over. I asked him what he's making and he said a shield and a sword. He was thinking about Earth day for some reason and decided to make something out of a box that was going to be recycled. Here is his masterpiece. Then he decided he was going to make 3 more of them for his buddies at daycare so that they could play. Guess who got to help him color them? Yup. Me.

After he had them all made he asked if we could play knight and princess and I hesitantly said "Of course!". ;)
I was the princess and was locked up in the tower. Knight Sir Connor had to rescue me from the bad knight. My part took about 30 seconds and Connor's fighting scene took about 20 minutes. Fun game! ;)

Connor asked if I would snuggle with him a little bit at bedtime since Jacob ALWAYS gets snuggles from daddy or I. I jump at this every time he asks, I don't know how long he'll want to keep doing it, so I'll do it as long as I can. As we're laying there I asked him if he will never get too cool or too old to snuggle with his mom. Mr. diplomatic Connor waited for a second, squeezed my arm, and said, " I promise I'll try not to mom."

I'm not sure if Jacob got more of his breakfast on his face, or in his belly.

New blog title.....

....well, come January I will have to give our family blog a new title. Will it be Four Guys and Two Gals or Five Guys and a Gal? (goodness help me if it is the latter one -hehe!)

We are expecting our blessing #4 in January and we can't wait. I'm 16 weeks now. We've had a few bumps in the road in getting here so we kept it quiet for awhile.
We finally told the boys this past weekend. Connor was tired and kind of out of it so we didn't get much of a response from him besides a, "Really? Cool."
After we talked about it I told Jacob I had a baby in my belly and he looked at me with this unsure look and then said, "You're kidding!!!" (like, mommy -you're so silly. don't tease me!)
Nolan then came over to me and lifted up my shirt and said, "Let me see?"
Pretty funny.

We're very excited. Would I like a girl? Of course! I am SO outnumbered. I would also love to be able to have the type of mother daughter relationship I have with my mom. However, I know boys, they're easy at this point ! ;) (I'll just have to hope for wonderful daughter -in- laws!). Healthy and happy is all we're praying for though. We won't find out until the day he or she is born. We didn't find out for the three boys (and I actually thought they were all going to be girls. Connor I just thought was going to be a girl, and then my pregnancies for Jacob and Nolan were so different I thought for sure one of them was going to be a girl-ha!).

What the boys have been up to

It's been a nice relaxing week here. Not too many things we HAVE to go to like the last couple weeks where we were go, go, go. I definitely got a peek into my future as chauffeur, etc... The boys had fun, but I'm glad it's all over. ;)

I finally got ALL of our ironing done. No lie...it took me 3 1/2 hours with a few breaks in between. I do not like ironing so the pile just kept on growing on top of the ironing board. I have a few more things to go, but not in a hurry to get them done. ;)

Last night we went on our first bike ride farther than just around the block or down on the path. I rode with Jacob and Nolan in the Burley and Connor rode his bike, no training wheels. We biked down to the park, played for awhile, and then biked back home. Connor did awesome. On the way back it's up a few little hills...it was definitely a work out.

Connor was also my little helper. He kept asking me for things to do.....whether it was bad of me or not I kept finding things for him to do. ;) He was loving it. He especially loved picking some basil from the garden, washing it, and then arranging it on the chicken.

I absolutely melt when Nolan says "I Luz You" (I love you).

The boys are into rocking out right now to music and LOVE to sing. I could sit and watch/listen all day.

The boys are into having their hair spiked lately. These are pictures from Kelsey's party.

Connor is still reading up a storm. I can't even keep track of how many Magic Tree House and Magic School Bus books he has read. He gets started in a book and I can't do anything to get him to put it down.

Some of the shows that the boys are into now are Magic School Bus Phineas and FerbMonster Buster ClubBig Foot presents: Meteor and the Mighty Monster Trucks
We're planning on joining Mattey, Kristin, Kelsey, and Kristin's sister Jolene's family at the water park today. Hope the weather stays nice.

*Update* As you can see we made it to the water park, but it wasn't the warmest day. By a couple of hours the kids' lips were blue and purple...a sign that it was time to go! ;) Though Jacob and Nolan probably would have stayed all day.

Fun Sunday

After church we went to mom's house for a yummy breakfast that she made. Dad had a bunch of change in a jar and he had all of us guess the total. The winner got $5.00. Grandma and Connor took it to the bank to get the total and wouldn't you know....Connor guessed the closest, that little stinker. ;) Then we went miniature golfing at Adventure Greens. Connor has been asking to go golfing for awhile now and Matt had tickets for a Shriner's fundraiser.
Later our friends the Packard's came over and the kids played and we made s'mores by the fire. Great day! We are very blessed.

Happy 1st Birthday Kelsey girl!!

Kelsey is 1 today! Yippee!
We're heading over to her birthday later so I will post a picture of the cute birthday girl.
Hope you have a great day big girl!!! We love you!

***Updated****

What a great time we had at Kelsey's party today! It was her Golden birthday! Good food, good company, lots of laughs.
Kelsey had a gold coin hunt for the kids and the adults and everyone had a blast. There definitely is some competitiveness in our family! All in good fun though. The winners had to give Kelsey a kiss to get their prize.
The guys got their usual card game in and then we played cranium to end the night. Thanks Matt, Kristin, and Kelsey for a fun day.
