Back in September Connor mentioned that he would love to go to a Timberwolves game for his birthday. We normally have pretty casual birthday parties just at our house, however I remembered a post a friend of mine made on her blog about her son’s Timberwolves birthday party and decided to look into it. Obviously, we had to wait for the basketball season. It was really reasonable for all of us and the package was great. Connor got to invite 2 friends. It was really fun. It was a bummer that some of the regulars weren’t playing due to injuries, but the Timberwolves won and the boys thought it was a pretty awesome time.
The package included:
Being escorted to a “special” play area (though it was quick because there were 4 other parties this night)
The boys got to meet Crunch and get his autograph (small world that Crunch is a guy from our hometown)
They got to go down and get autographs before the game. Again, many of the regular guys were injured so they weren’t there, but the boys thought it was awesome and a few of them got Ricky Rubio’s. Connor got a jersey with the birthday package and was able to get a bunch of autographs on it.
The seats were up in the nosebleed section, but anywhere you sit you can see great in the Target Center and it didn’t seem to bother the boys any. Everybody got a hotdog, chips, and pop with the package as well.
I hadn’t been to a Timberwolves game in awhile, if you aren’t a basketball fan it’s still a good time – they keep you entertained.
Connor got his name up on the jumbo screen and when I talked to the guy I asked if he could also put Lucas’s on there since his actual birthday is tomorrow. The boys thought that was pretty cool.
Then to top it all off, they brought us cupcakes. The boys were not big fans of them because they were red velvet and cream cheese frosting – let’s just say I didn’t mind the 2-3 of them that I had. ;)
The crowd and the team were pretty excited about the win because they had lost a few too many in a row. The new guys played really well.
