Neighborhood Fourth of July

We love our neighborhood.  Tuesday night we celebrated the 4th with our neighbors by getting together to grill and do some fireworks.  The kids all went swimming in one of the neighbor’s pool and inflatable waterslide, while the parents were in the house talking, eating, and watching the Twins.  When it got dark we had our own fireworks show on the street.  There are a lot of boys in our “hood” and our boys love that.

It wasn’t too hard to get them to go to sleep this night.  ;)  We didn’t realize how late it was until we got home and everyone zonked in about 2 minutes.  Everyone also slept in Wednesday morning which was even better. ;)

VanGogh, Picasso, and Monet

We went to a couple of parks on Wednesday. We found some huge tadpoles, went exploring, had a scavenger hunt, and drank from the fountain at Mineral Springs Park (more like played in the water!)

We also decided to paint and made a mess, but had a blast. Can you find Nolan? More paint ended up on him than on the paper. I have some future artists on my hands! ;) The last one is of Connor's end result, we hung it up in the office.

I walked into the bathroom seeing this. Jacob said his bear was going potty. Too funny! Atleast Bear understands the concept of using the big toilet!

Thursday the kids went to Daycare and they went to the firestation.

So Connor was looking at a magazine the other day and said "If only I had my own cell phone."
"Seriously?" I asked -"Sorry buddy, that won't be happening for a very long time. Not until you're much older, then we'll think about it. However, remember I'm not letting you grow up." (I always tease him that he's getting too big, too fast, so I'm going to stop him from growing).
"How are you going to stop me?"
"Maybe I'll put on a board on your head, or put you in a box and tape it shut really tight."
"Mom, come on, that won't work, of course I'll still grow, I would just get really squished in the box".
