Pumpkin Carving

We had everyone over who could make it to carve pumpkins and have brunch.

I couldn’t even tell you how many years it has been since mom’s been wearing her lovely mask.

After Lucas carved his pumpkin he knew the next thing was to “light it up”.  He had an idea and came back into the kitchen with a flashlight to light up his pumpkin.  It was pretty cute.  Makes sense to me.  He went around to everyone’s pumpkin and lit it up.

Jack-o-lantern time

Sunday late afternoon we got together to carve pumpkins. The boys tried to scare everyone that came over.

Uncle Mattey was pretty scared.

We got to work pretty quickly.  Grandma has been wearing her lovely mask since we carved pumpkins as kids I think. ;)

This was about as close as she wanted to get to those “icky” pumpkins.

One of Mattey’s final projects.  My final project that I had to finish after everyone left because it took me so long. If you can’t tell it’s a ghost in a window.

Connor’s werewolf (he did it all by himself)

Jacob’s face that he drew by himself and carved with the help of Grandma. I am supposed to apparently help him finish this spider web but we haven’t gotten to it yet.

I love how Lucas is looking at his scary brothers. What are those things? The boys found these in the Halloween bin and put together some interesting combos.

He surprisingly wasn’t scared at all of the masks. He gave some funny looks, but never any tears.

Thankful Thursday

I haven't posted a Thankful Thursday in awhile and just needed a little reminder that I have so much to be thankful for. It's easy to get caught up in things going wrong and the stressful things. I needed a little reminder of my WORD - GRATITUDE.

Mom and dad came over tonight to finish with the pumpkins. Jacob and Nolan painted theirs and Connor finished carving his. I also finished Jacob's lightning McQueen. The pumpkin was starting to rot it took me so long.

If you remember, Connor made a treasure box for school and got to bring it home a couple of weeks ago. He is supposed to put all of the books he makes at school in it and then take the time to read them once in awhile. We read them all of the time. Well, Jacob has been making some books at Mary's during his preschool time, and tonight asked Connor if he could put his in Connor's box? Connor said yes, and Jacob thought it was the coolest and is so proud of his books. Here the boys are reading their books to all of us.

My cute scarecrow ready for his Harvest party tomorrow at school.
