Happy 5th Birthday Noleyman

Our Nolan has turned 5 years old!

His last sleep as a 4 year old.  He looks so peaceful and innocent here. ;)

He chose to go to the Pizza Ranch for dinner.  Surprising?  Not at all….they have video games there.

Favorite memory from your year as a 4 year old: Wisconsin Dells

Noley, Noley, Noley.  You are one of a kind.  You have this ability to be a little stinker yet giggle about it and that twinkle in your eyes gets you out of a lot of trouble (as well as into).  You are full of personality, spunk, and energy.  Many times we just shake our heads at you and laugh.  It’s hard not to laugh and smile at you.  You definitely push your brothers to be the best they can be.  You are extremely competitive and love challenges.  You are very feisty and tough, but also very sensitive.  I am so proud of how well you have done in school.  I’m not going to lie, I expected to get a couple calls or emails (knock on wood) from your teacher, and yet there have been none.  She says you are nothing but a joy.  You are going to challenge your father and me for the rest of our lives, but I wouldn’t trade the twinkle you have for any of it.  You wear your emotions on your sleeve and we know when you are happy, sad, angry, or excited.  I love you buddy…and am excited to watch you turn into a young man.  Happy Birthday.

I asked him if he felt like a 4 year old and felt older. He told me, "Not yet, but after I open my presents I bet I will".

I love this one of my boys (you can really see Lucas's bumps, scrapes, and bruises though). The brotherly birthday love.

For supper Nolan chose to go to the Pizza Ranch....mostly because of the video games.;)

Grandma and Grandpa, Diane, and Kristin and the girls were able to join us.

Show: Pokemon

Song: Everybody Take It Off by Kesha

Wii game: Sonic All Stars Racing Mario Cart

Friends: Owen, Garrett, Jacob, Connor, Lucas

Connor says: Nolan I really like playing Pokemon with you and trading cards. You make me laugh.

Jacob says: I like you. I like playing Sonic on the Wii with you and playing Pokemon. We are silly together. You're cool Nolan.

Oh Noleyman. Life is never dull with you. You keep us on our toes. You are a very spirited child. Every morning I wait to see how you get out of bed, smiling and laughing, or crabby and mad. You have a laugh and a smile that can make anyone do anything for you. You're eyes sparkle when you smile and laugh. You have a talent for getting in trouble and then giving that smile and those eyes....and it makes people forget that you were doing something you weren't supposed to. It is hard for people to keep a straight face when you are naughty. ;) You love to have your back tickled, and I love that I get to do that. You try to hard to keep up with your older brothers, and do a darn good job at it. You give them a run for their money. You are also so great with Lucas. I love hearing the two of you laugh as you chase around the house, or he is trying to "hit you with the pillow". I'm so glad you decided to turn 4, though I do still wish time didn't go by so quickly. You are already way too independent. I am sad when you don't need me so much, but so proud of you being able to so much on your own. You know what you want....that's for sure. ;)

We love you so much and cannot wait to see what the world has in store for you, and what you have in store for the world. ;) It's going to be great.

Happy birthday bud!

Happy 3rd Birthday Noleyman!

My “not so much the baby anymore” turned 3 yesterday! Wow, time sure does fly by.

Here is Nolan as a 2 year old for the last time.100_6929a

Wii game: Mario Cart

Food: Cheeseburger

Noley, Noley, Noley. What to say about you?! You are one of a kind, that’s for sure. You are our cereal loving, cheese loving boy. You are way smarter than you’re supposed to be at only 3 years old. I’m sure that’s because you try as hard as you can to keep up with your older brothers. You are ALL boy. You love to get down and dirty and play rough. You have absolutely no sense of fear or danger, which is a little scary at times. I love that you always want to snuggle at bedtime still. I wish I did it more often with you. You are 99% of the time extremely happy when you wake up in the morning. If only everyone could have a little bit of this trait from you. You make my morning. You love the word "wierd" right now. Everything is "weird". You have a giggle that can make any body smile. You also have a little devious laugh that you do when you’re causing trouble or doing something you know you shouldn’t be doing! It also makes us smile though. You tell us when we are doing something wrong (“Mommy, why you do that?”) and being silly (“Silly you mommy!”). You are a good big brother and love Lucas so much! You definitely keep us on our toes. You bring joy to our lives. We love you buddy!

Celebrating Nolan's birthday

Familiar morning site.
Matt and I are going to the Twins Opening Day tomorrow in the new Target Field, so we celebrated Nolan's birthday today.
After church we came home and quickly ate. Nolan decided he wanted to do miniature golfing (originally he wanted to go to the House of Bounce, but it was way too nice out to be inside the whole day).

Nolan got a watch just like his big brothers for his birthday from Grandma and Grandpa, so now they all ask each other what time it is and think they are SOOO cool.

After golfing we went to get ice cream and walked the path a little bit.

When we got home we went for a bike ride, played some baseball outside, and played some games inside before bed. It was a very action packed day.

It's been a whirlwind lately with the birthday party yesterday, celebrating Nolan's day today, Nolan's birthday tomorrow and the Twins game. It's going to be Lucas's first day at daycare. I have a ton of stuff to get ready for Nolan's morning, for daycare, plus my dad is helping us out by picking the boys up from daycare so I have to get stuff ready for that, and then Connor has his first soccer practice and Mattey is helping take him to that. I'm already exhausted just thinking about it. What is it going to be like when all of the boys are in school and activities. Aye, aye aye.

Birthday party

We celebrated Jacob and Nolan's birthdays with my family this afternoon/evening. We played a car race game, played outside, ate a ton of food, opened presents, played cards, and visited. Another great celebration. Thanks everyone. Our boys are so loved and so fortunate.
