We had the SMS auction this past weekend. This was our first year on the committee. It is a three year commitment, so we have two more left. It was a really great experience and we had so much fun. Don't get me wrong, it was a lot of work, but we met some really neat people and it feels great to be a part of something we strongly believe in. We have been pretty much preparing, setting up, working, and cleaning up night and day since Wednesday. Thank you to my mom and dad for helping with the boys.
It was an extremely successful night. We had a record breaking attendance, we sold a record breaking amount of car and cash raffle tickets, and our total was the highest yet - $145,000. Unbelievable.
This community is extremely generous. For quite a few years now, three major fundraisers take place on the same day - one for SMS, one for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and one for YoungLife. All on the SAME day and they were all very successful this year. The community donated over $215,00 or more, not to mention what was all donated before the events so that they could even take place. What a great town to live in. Thank you also to those of you who we know (and not know if you read this) that supported us by either buying Hawaiin raffle tickets and/or Car and Cash raffle tickets (I wish someone we sold them to would have won!), donated items, and came for the night to celebrate. Put it on the calendar for next year. It is always around the same time. It's guaranteed to be a great time.
Sunday after we cleaned up from the auction we stopped over at mom and dad's to go for a ride in my dad's new "studly" truck. He just got it, and it is very sweet. The boys thought it was A.W.E.S.O.M.E (especially the rear view video) and so pumped to get a ride in it.
Looking pretty good dad!
Other randoms:
We went back to the doctor last Thursday for Lucas's check up and he was still crackly so he had to get a steroid shot and now is on steroid Neb treatments for 4 weeks. He seems to be getting better.

Nolan got an alarm clock for his birthday and is so cool because he is like his two older brothers now. ;) The first night we plugged it in for him, he stayed up looking and watching the clock for an hour....no lie. I was snuggling with him and every minute when a number would change he got all excited and then he would ask me how to say the time. Well, I finally had to go snuggle with Connor so I left. When I got back upstairs Nolan was waiting for me in the hall, hands on his hips, with very sad eyes...."Mommy, you missed the numbers changing." It was so cute. I had to explain to him that the numbers keep changing forever and ever, and that there will be many times when we will miss the numbers changing because we can't always lay there and watch them. "Oh, I didn't know that", with a smile on his face and he went back to bed.

Nolan woke up a little bit ago (11 pm....) and in his sleep got dressed and fell back asleep on the couch. He is too funny.
