My Grandpa turned 90 today. There was a big celebration for him out at Litomysl church. It was pretty fitting that it was there since many significant and day to day events from my grandpa’s life took place at this church. The day started off with celebrating mass together. He wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Then we all headed downstairs to celebrate. It was an open house, so family and friends were invited. He sat on his chair for quite awhile as people walked through to wish him a Happy Birthday. I am a little biased, but he is seriously the cutest 90 year old I know. His smile lights up his face and just makes you giggle. He is as sharp as a wit and loves to play cards. He still gets his naps in here and there, but sure loves to talk and share stories about anything. He also loves to tell you jokes. Thanks to the big help of my uncle Steve, Grandpa tries to make it to as many family events as he can – birthday parties, celebrations, etc…. He has had quite a life with his beautiful bride and 11 children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren – there are way too many to count. I know he is anxiously waiting to join his wife, Grandma, up in heaven some day, but also loves being around family. It sure would be awesome to have him around for awhile. Let’s go for 100 Grandpa!!!

Yesterday, Thursday, February 28th, was my dad’s last day of working at KSW. He worked there for some 40 years. Unbelievable. My dad is one of the hardest workers I know. You so deserve this dad! We are very happy for you and excited for you to enjoy yourself. Maybe after you’ve enjoyed yourself and relaxed a little, you can help us with our “To Do” list too! ;) Congratulations dad!
Connor got to play basketball during half time of the varsity game tonight. He was a little nervous. The Huskies played a really good team so the bleachers were pretty packed. He had fun though. Matt is gone for work right now, but many others made it. The whole Owatonna crowd made it, and Papa John and Yaya made the trip down to watch him.
We are going to put the month of February in one post. I am just not keeping up with blogging lately. Hopefully it will start to slow down. Ha! ';)
We had a lovely visit with Nana the last Saturday in January. She came down to watch the boys play basketball, she took Lucas shopping for his birthday and he picked out some Captain America stuff, and we had a lovely lunch. It was a brief visit, but always so good to see her.
Papa John and Yaya came to visit on Saturday, February 9th. It was Papa John’s birthday! We had a busy day as well. Lucas got a birthday present for his birthday and loves his lizard. They got to watch the boys play basketball as well and we celebrated Papa John’s birthday!

The weekend and week before Valentine’s day we were busy making our valentines.

We celebrated the night before (on Ash Wednesday) because Matt and I had tickets to go to the Wild game on the 14th.
In the month of February we also had a some snow days/late starts due to the weather. We kept busy on these days.
A couple fun stories about Jacob. He was doing something in class and got the teacher and class giggling. Later she said to him, “Jacob, you’re trouble!” To which he kindly responding, “Right back atcha’ Mrs. P.!”. Awesome, my child just told his teacher that she was trouble! Luckily she was a very good sport about it and thought it was funny.
Some of Jacob’s classmates were working with another adult and they asked her if she was ever going to work with other students or if the group they had was going to be it always. She asked them, “This will probably be our group for awhile, but why? Is there someone you think I should meet?”. A couple of the students said, “Oh yes, you have to meet Jacob. He is really really funny!”. I think we have a class clown in our future.
The days just come and go way too quickly and I try to do it all, get it all done, but most importantly take the time to know my boys. They change and grow so quickly in such a little amount of time.
