Happy 6th Birthday Jakeyman!

Happy Birthday Buddy!

Jacob came into our room early this morning, so I had him hop into bed to snuggle. When it was time to actually get up I kissed him and said “Good morning buddy!” and he leans into me and whispers, “Mom, say Good morning BIRTHDAY boy!” So I did just that.

The birthday streamer of course. He asked about them a few times before bed to see if we were going to put them up.

He opened his presents before school because daddy was leaving later in the day.

Grandpa and Grandma came over and brought Jacob KFC for dinner. It was so nice out we played outside for a little after and Jacob got a visit from Kelsey, Megan, and Aunt K.

Oh Jacob, Jacob Jacob. You are quite the Jacob. You are definitely YOU! You still love to snuggle with me and I will take that forever. :) You are turning into a very nice young man with good manners. Yet, you are all BOY! Like burping and farting at the dinner table. Yep. And then giggle about it. You go all out when you’re playing sports. You LOVE to keep busy. You are very sensitive and when you get in trouble or do something you know you’re not supposed to do- afterwards, you truly feel awful and get very sad. You have a HUGE heart. You are the peace maker, when someone needs to give in (and with four boys in the house someone has to give in) - you are most of the time the first one to give in or let one of the others get what they want. I love that about you. You love to color right now and I enjoy your pictures you make for me. It’s so exciting to listen to you read. You are doing a great job. I love you buddy. I will take you crawling into our bed early in the morning like you do, any and every day. Happy Birthday bud. I can’t wait to see what the world has in store for you, or better yet – what you have in store for the world.

Do they sing to you?

Matt is leaving for Boston for the week and tomorrow is Jacob’s birthday so we went out to eat tonight to celebrate. All weekend I have been asking him where he wants to go to eat and his answer was KFC. Seriously? Out of all places? Yep. He LOVES KFC food. It’s his day, so he gets to pick where. We pulled into the KFC parking lot to meet Matt after work and Jacob asks me, “Mom, do they sing to you here?”

“Ummm….nope. This place is like a McDonalds where we get our food from the counter and go sit down.”

Silence.

“Oh…..then let’s go to Applebee’s!”

So we had Jacob’s birthday supper at Applebee’s and he was sang to. Quite the change from our shy, not wanting attention 5 year old last year. ;)

Megan’s Birthday Party

We went to Megan’s birthday party today. Hard to believe this little lady is already 1.

The boys had a blast with the games. They played musical ladybugs (chairs), catch the ladybug, and pin the spots on the ladybug.

The guys played some cards as always. It was so nice to see great grandpa up and excited about playing cards. He’s been under the weather the past month.

The boys even showed off a little of their feminine side (at a house with only girls….only going to be girl dress up clothes!….didn’t stop the boys though!)
